Well, that's why I think so many in Austin hate Bush's guts. The theory does work.

My father used to play poker in two games. The Lutheran league, yes, all members of the Church, used to play every other Thursday night. Fish club was every other Wednesday night on opposite weeks. Between the two he made about $2k per year. He could hold his likker.

The Fish Club started in 1930 and was 4 guys who did some pistol shooting at noon on Fridays. They had a range to shoot at and then had fish for lunch. Then a poker game and anyone down $10 played for free until he got even.

The club expanded and moved to Wednesday evenings with a meal and poker. My father was invited in when GJ Meherle died, he founded State Farm Insurance. They had a women's night once a year and would rent the paddle boat or a restaurant and theater for the women's night. The convoy of cars would have a police escourt and saved parking.
