many headlines like this and Bush touting the economy as sound -- hang it up, the economy is going into the real recession now. Writeoffs won't salvage it -- because no-one cept the government can take on any more debt. Companies don't have any real profits to spend -- this will be reflected in the markets and consumer spending sooner than anyone thinks, IMHO. Can't rebuild confidence that hasn't been destroyed. biz.yahoo.com
