And when the Republican Right castigated him for his poorly planned and even more poorly executed attempt at quelling bin Laden, what did you expect? Someone should have patted him on the back and said, 'Sorry you blew up an empty building in a sensitive area of the world, but better luck next time.'
Of course, Clinton didn't have enough backbone to stand up to them and even less interest in pursuing bin Laden because he had interns in his office who were busy lavishing their affections on him. His lack of conviction also speaks to the lack of effective planning beyond topics that involved interoffice rendezvous.
I don't know how you can claim that Bush has never even smelled success. I don't know where you get the inside information that would give you an accurate line on just where the military effort stands. If you are naive enough to think that CNN delivers 100% of the scoop all the time, then you are perilously close to brain dead.
Further, if you expect the hunt for bin Laden to be over tomorrow then you are not exercising the single brain cell that's rattling around between your ears. In light of that, it is hardly fair to categorize Bush's efforts as '...never even smelled success'.
