The commandment #5 somehow came across my mind: "Honour thy father and thy mother..." etc, translated "Do onto your parents what you expect your kids would do for you later on" - assuming you have some;

iow, it's an inter-generations IOU.

I agree 100%. Again, how do you suggest the system should work? The government can not "save" in any meaningful sense as the only instruments with which it can "save" are government IOUs.
