Has There Ever Been A Correction Of Previously Released Economic Data

in a manner that suggests that the prior data was actually "better" than it was when released.

It seems that the significant number of revisions which show the prior data was in fact not as good as that which was released seems to imply that we are not dealing with normal random errors.
