Joan, that last one...(5yr plan) sounds like the we'll break you in 5yrs and you won't have tow worry-ng- why don't folks think for themselves anymore? especially when it comes to "their" money, livelihood...

Joan, one other point of how this isn't like 1987, the satellite dish has helped CNBS etc pick pockets GLOBALLY to support the US market. There's empty pockets out there all over the world - ouch! Interesting to hear your retiree updates. Under normal circumstances, I know that's supposed to be the capitulation signal and time to pile back into equities, but I think I'll miss Dow 36k with no regrets here -g- When you mentioned that one is on the 5-year plan, I don't remember if it was you, but someone posted over the last few months that their broker's 5 year plan was to tell them not to open their brokerage statement for 5-years. Ouch again! -g-
