The Financial Terrorists that the efficient market as been entrusted to by our Government could stop this nonsense in its tracks if they wanted to. They don't want to. Its too lucrative for them. I'm just amazed they haven't turncoated on the short sellers and started picking their pockets daily.

You omitted the most obvious perpetrators - the Wall Street establishment who pimped all the overinflated bubbles to the public and the corrupt CEOs who jumped on for the ride to riches. Congress and short sellers are nothing compared to the hundreds of billions these crooks swindled out of the average investor. Not even close. Blaming them is a pathetic sideshow. It used to be only the Mafia which preyed on widows and the elderly funds, but they have plenty of company these days.
