Grace, thanks for bringing up the discount point thing. Earlier today, I was tempted to say something about this....but you can't stop negative sentiment and you can't overcome smugness among people who WANT to believe whatever it is they WANT to believe.

Incidentally, another thing today that is sort of interesting is the drop in housing numbers for existing homes. It won't do any good, I suppose, to suggest that MAYBE....just maybe....there aren't enough sellers out there to make the existing-home sales figures look good?

I've felt for a long time that this weird economic situation we're experiencing is going to either force people to stay put, or will influence them to think that keeping the old homestead is maybe the best and least expensive thing they can do.
