I can easily understand how young idealistic Jewish lad in revolutionary Russia could get caught up in the excitement of a new progressive movement that offered social equality without having malice. Although my experience was nothing like your fathers, I too became a socialist and a Trotskyite in my whimsical, ignorant and strident youth. I enjoyed reading Marx and other communist theoreticians in my youth. Marx's analysis of the Jewish problem is insightful. This all took place in my late teens and early twenties. At the core of the socialist idea is an appealing Christian concept of man's desire for the oneness and equality of humanity. Somewhere in the heart of all idealistic youth their is that yearning to strip off the social, theological, political and racial barriers that separate humanity and embrace spiritually at the core of our being. We all have our socially constructed realities that are imposed upon us by an "accident" of birth. Just as we tend to read the present into the past when we read history, we also attempt to read our own social realities into the lives of others. That's the human condition. I am sure there were many innocent Jews who did not support nor condone the excesses of the Jewish Communists. I have not hatred or animosity for individual Jews simply because they were born into the religion of rabbinic Judaism. but I vehemently oppose Talmudic Judaism because it was invented to destroy the souls of men. I do not oppose it because of prejudice or pre-conceived notions, but rather from careful study and reflection. Talmudic Judaism finds its value and "salvation" in petty, hair-splitting obedience to law and regulations mostly invented by rabbis. Sure, the rabbis use vague references to the written Torah, but in the end it is the interpretation and the commentaries that establishes their righteousness. Talmudic Judaism is the quintessence of righteousness by law. I said law and not LAW because I wanted to emphasize that it was not by the Law of God in the written Torah but rather the by the law of rabbis in the Babylonian Talmud. In contrast to the salvation of these pseudo-priests or rabbis which is based on fables and legends, there is the reality of the salvation of Jesus based on fulfillment of prophecy, real historical events, and the historical demonstration of divine power. The historical documents in the New Testament are not myths and legends as you believe, but sober eyewitness historical accounts written by simple men who saw and heard what they recorded. There is solid historical evidence that the majority of these documents were written within the generation that knew Jesus. When the Sanhedrin threatened the Apostles with possible death, they responded: For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. These are simple, sober, and uneducated Jewish fishermen speaking. There is NO element of myth or legend here. Read these historical accounts for yourself and you will see what I mean. And what do they record about Jesus? He fulfilled the prophecies, he healed the sick, he raised the dead, he raised himself from the dead, and most importantly, he forgive sins! The Hebrew prophets Elijah and Elias had also raided the dead, but they did it by praying to God whereas Jesus did it simply by the innate divinity within him. Many simply touched him and were instantly healed. No one can rationally convince you that Christ is the saviour and son of God that came to redeem you from your sins. I could answer a hundred of your rational questions and criticism and you would simple have another hundred. Knowledge illuminates our minds, but faith and revelation illuminates our hearts. The principles of science and math illuminate our minds and help us understand and see things we could not see before. The knowledge of Christ illuminates our hearts and gives us spiritual vision that answers all the doubts of cynicism and disbelief.
