I only lose my sense of humor when my shoes start hurting. You would too if you had to walk a mile in them.

Chojiro, I have decided to ban you for being ridiculous. < Message 17798416;

Grubbing is infantile behaviour [especially for such trivial grubs as 5000]. Now you and Uncle Frank are both banned, for fighting in a public place, being grubby and writing short posts.

I can see what they mean about power. It's heady stuff. I think I'll ban a few more people.

How about that Osama - 20 sons and no doubt a similar number of daughters AND he's killed 3000 infidels [and a few Moslem collateral damage victims] in the world's most spectacular act of malevolence? He just LOVES power!! Which seems to have a sexual link to it if we judge by offspring and number of women and Clinton's enjoyment of the limelight and power. Maybe Osama sees Clinton and USA presidents as being competing alpha males for power and the ladies' attention and they view him in a similar light?

Osama achieved the record because it was a process which was live as seen on tv - other acts of greater scale such as Hiroshima were like a tree falling in the forest or Shrodinger's Cat - unobserved by nearly everyone. There have also been far greater horrors, such as the slow-motion nightmare of Adolf's mass murder over years, but they lacked the special effects aspect of the WTC destruction, which was really quite trivial in numbers of people involved and even the amount of property damage - road crashes are much more serious but get little attention; they also lack the added horror of deliberate action which Hitler and Osama brought to bear.

It's a shame that the concept of positive power, such as that exerted by Irwin Jacobs, changing the world and giving power to billions of individuals, isn't more popular. Ordering people around and killing them if necessary seems to what powerful people mostly like doing. I guess it takes brains and a lot of desirable attributes to create positive power, whereas a chimpoid barbarian can achieve negative power and destruction with half a brain and a box-cutter.

Anyway, I'm not as powerful as Osama, Bill Clinton or Irwin Jacobs, so I'll have to make do with banning people, which is some thrill I must admit. Any ladies out there?
