"ADT is the low cost provider at least for the home segment. I don't have any direct exprience wiht them. " They are way behind in technology for higher end business security. Not as much in what they have to offer but in a huge lack of training of their personnel. The name was once synonymous with top of the line high quality security. Every major diamond seller in New York on East 47th Street used them. Now I bet you can't find a one that uses them. The equipment installers are not properly trained and the people at their montoring stations have almost no training at all. They start to agressively target residential due to the fact they lost the enterprise market and the name was/is still wekk known. Home security systems really are not very secure and need very little technology.
