Emile, you will never understand the American system until you realize that the justice system (or rather what supposedly passes for such a system) is always relative. They wipe their arses on the constitution without a second thoughts if the interests of the "right" scams demand it. As you know; they've swept the rampant fraud in corporations and the stock market under the rug for years. It's only now when the stench of fraud is becoming so overpowering that they're faced with wholesale flight of capital that they have been forced to deal with this mess. Projections were made on the basis of fraudulent and misleading data and goosed books. And of course Greenspan and other einsteins swallowed this whole and based THEIR pie in the sky projections on it. And still the principals of this disaster have the gall to talk of fundamentals. Fundamentals based on what? Goosed books and financial engineering? The reckoning will be severe. To every action there is a reaction. Bush is 100% forced to go to war somewhere, anywhere to divert attention from the sinkhole economy and also because his Israeli owners (like himself) are losing what little confidence and trust they had in the world.
