They run rocket lots prior to moving to full production. They have a very good idea of what will be coming out at the end of the line.

Do you think Intel won't know if it can make 2.6ghz P4's until they've tested the final parts now in production?

Is it your argument that Pentium may be limited to 1ghz again, once they've tested the wafers now in production - how can they know until they test the actual production lots?
