amir, i have a friend who lost about $500k in the last 2.5 years. i think he made about $500k in the "go go" era, but he paid all his tax on the gains. now he gets a $3k deduction for life. -ng-

i always told him, i don't play the tulip game b/c i couldn't tell when it would end. neither could he.

Amir, non-taxable accounts are the fastest growing, but taxable accounts are still larger. Plus, non-taxable accounts are not non-taxable. They are just later taxable. My guess is that by the time the boomer bulge is ready to retire, we'll go back to 70% rates on "non-earned income."
