The court found that none of EchoStar's products infringe on any of the patents asserted. Accordingly, Judge Lacy H. Thornburg dismissed the case and awarded EchoStar its court costs. As announced on July 3, 2002, Judge Thornburg previously ruled that all but two of EchoStar's products did not infringe the patents asserted by Gemstar. With respect to the two products, Judge Thornburg requested additional information before reaching a final ruling. In today's order, Judge Thornburg ruled that the remaining two products also did not infringe the asserted patents.
