Yes! We've kicked the habit! I also have to admit that I had twinges this week, but since we, too, transferred all our IRA's to a professional (who's doing a dollar cost averaged 80% in bonds and 20% in stocks) these itchy fingers have nothing to play with either. And it is a relief. I've heard about The Secret Life of Bees (which should win a prize just for the title) and will pick it up. Bread Loaf looms in about two weeks and I'm really looking forward to it. Earlier this week I heard from the editor of The Formalist (a well-regarded journal of metrical poetry)that they want to publish one of my sonnets. I'm ecstatic, as this is the big time. my younger daughter has been here all month, infuriated at my "get up by noon" rule -- horrid mom that I am. Apparently, no other teen in America has a mother who insists her daughter get up by noon and dress by two. I am learning so much about contemporary parenting from her this summer. Apparently, curfews are also passe.
