And yes, I'm quite certain you're buddy and his cohorts were beside themselves with glee over the passage of the "Credit Card Collections" Bill. After all, millions of dollars went into the lobbying effort, no? EDIT: No current position on COF (covered on the morning it gapped down).

mine purchased about 10 years ago has required about $100 of repairs EVERY SINGLE YEAR since we've owned it Yikes! I just bought a new fridge because I just couldn't stand looking at the 22 year old GE that came with my house and I had to find a good home for it because the damned thing just wouldn't die (fixed the ice maker and that was the only repair in 22 years). I bought a Frigidaire and one of the least expensive side by side models. The sales person was so disappointed in us that we didn't see the need for stainless steel or cooling zones, a door that talked or had seven different controls on the front. We told her we'd be willing to pay $3000 for a fridge that actually put food into itself or cleaned out the rotting vegetables, but the other features were pretty much useless to us because we're just not smart enough to figure out how to use them.
