Well Mary, this wasn't your best week.

I think the straw that really broke the camel's back was your solicitation of 'testimonials for Tony'. The idea floated just like the Queen Mary's anchor.

I can understand why Judd for the Defense might request of you your help in obtaining testimonials. It would be reasonable and even probable that the defense would want to portray Elgindy's message board clique and Insidetruth.com as a popular educational association rather than the central hub of criminal conspiracy that some suspect.

What I don't understand is why you agreed to do it. You and moneymadetrader are literally the only two people promoting this. Aside from the two of you not a single individual has voiced support for your cause.

From day one of Anthony's incarceration a lot of well-known short traders have been strangely quiescent about the allegations made against Tony and still are. They are not about to give Anthony a testimonial any time soon.

Yes, there are people on this board that have voiced support for Tony, and perhaps a few will come forward, but I doubt it. Very few people enjoy assuming the risk of being brought into the spotlight of a criminal trial, appearing at depositions or having their testaments placed into the public record. It is potential time, expense and embarrassment for anybody who volunteers. And, for what? Because they followed Tony's lead in some short trades?

Furthermore, the testimonials will be seen for what they are. The support of friends, associates and colleagues. In toto the court and the jury will give it the weight of a fly.

To top if off, I really believe you sabotaged your own effort by trying to remain the anonymous benefactor to this effort. How many businesses, non-profit associations, advocacy groups, charities, foundations or private party collection groups operate anonymously based on a box address and no telephone number? I find it strangely ironic that you chose this method. It's more reminiscent of a boiler room operation, except they at least have telephones.

Whoever put you up to this didn't do you any favors and should be ejected from your life, unless of course, there is a lot of money in it for you.

Ed
