in the past when i hired lawyers, my gross went down. they hurt my production, chased away clients, wasted my time. years after they leave, they know something and bring in some business. i have been working 10-12 hours/day (billable) for a few months. unfortunately, it ain't quite $1,000/ hour. BTW, most days, I lose much more in the stock market than I make billing 12 hours.
