Exactly. Anyone swimming in the current waters needs to be aware of their swimming partners. I am going under the assumption that a significant amount of the program trading is from redemptions of individual fund accounts. For several days now, the NYSE volume has been greater than Nasdaq volume--another indicator of who is trading heavily.

I did not expect the September low on the INDU to be taken out. However, there was little in the markets to counteract the effects of programs during the day. That is why we are getting the 200 to 300 point INDU moves in 60 minutes or less. The swimming waters only will be calm again when the NYSE daily volume is below Nasdaq volume, NYSE volume is back near 1 billion a day, and programs account for much less than 30 percent of daily and weekly volume. Until then, we will go anywhere the originators of the programs wish us to go.
