X, I don't know who funded the geek, but the brokerage firms quote him all the time. I always fire back with: 1. Wharton academics lost a chunk of the U. of Penn's endowment and got fired during the 1970s. Siegel was not one of them, as he is too young. But as a Wharton professor, anything he says about the practice of investing, as opposed to the theory, has to be suspected.

2. Academics, including those with Nobel Prizes, blew up Long Term Credit and needed a federal bailout.

I'd rather hear the musings of somebody who has made money in the market, no matter what degrees and credentials they carry after their names. Like The Beardstown Lady Scamsters. <VBG>
