Oh, I know what you meant. And I know what he means as well. Yes sir, it's a foolish statement. Sort of akin to those WCOM people that stated that the stock would never go to near zero... Your points: that investors should never take comfort in a loser, even a "good" loser; that a total loss is a total loss, no matter what the entry point; and that losses aren't generally thought of as being "capped" on a per share basis, rather they are "capped" by the total capital invested in the stock plus commissions...

He's really just trying to paint as good a picture as possible under the circumstances, but rationalizing is rationalizing... (A rose by any other name, etc...)
