Re: "People put it all together, and they rightly don't want socialized medicine in the U.S." Wrong. A majority of Americans wants more socialized medicine, not less. What's the alternative? Empowering HMOs even more? Yeah, right. I would also point out that most problems with Medicare have involved provider fraud ... another form of corporate greed. It ain't the poor people in need of health care who are corrupting the system, it's people in the upper tax brackets.
