Fair enough. I agree with most of it. Carter may not have created the Iran mess, but his handling of the hostage situation was atrociously bad. Calling it amateurish would be a very charitable description.

And Kennedy is remembered because he was handsome and he got shot. He he not been assassinated, he would probably be mostly forgotten.

The first President impeached was Andrew Johnson, Abe Lincoln's veep. Congress passed a law requiring its consent to dismiss Cabinet level officers- -knowing Johnson would violate it. He did and they impeached him. The Senate did not convict. The USSC later held that Johnson was correct.

And Clinton got d**ned lucky in his timing. Arguably, so did Reagan.
