Nearly all posts on this thread are based on assumptions -- that's what investing is about. If you want to make predictions about future developments or events you can't rely on "facts" alone but you have to make certain assumptions. So to criticize Petz that his posts are based on assumptions is like criticizing the Pope for being Catholic. ;)

I think your real problem with Petz' posts aren't his assumptions but the conclusions he draws. You don't believe that Hammer will live up to its hype although you don't state why. The problem is that most of Petz' assumptions are reasonable and rely on hard-data like published reviews from Hammer samples (which always understate not overstate performance, BTW) or reviews of overclocked Pentium 4s. That sounds all reasonable to me. So if you don't agree with him don't attack his reasoning (which is fine based on the limited data points available) but just state that you have another opinion. Otherwise you might sound like what we call in Germany a "Besserwisser". <g>
