I was doing a little half-sleepy reading, and jumped when my inbox lit up. Startled me!. Good morning. I agree that we all define our own purpose. We must own ourselves, our choices, goals and consequences, in short everything about ourselves. If not we miss the experience of being at all. Here the law of unintended consequences shows up. I think the intended purposes and rationales of many people, smart and foolish, will turn out to have surprise endings. We may end up in places we did not think we were heading. Some of us will, to our own surprise, end up reflecting the deep good and love at the center of it all. Many others who thought we were uncovering deep mysteries of life, will perhaps be surprised that we actually never got past our own "id". So I say to myself, What a wonderful world!

We can chose.... >>Yes, that is one way to look at it. Or perhaps that God's gift of freedom is the freedom to define and choose our own purpose. For such is how we create and know ourselves experientially.>> .....to create and define our "own" purpose - ie. divide, separate from him and our true purpose in communion with him, etc. Or we can chose to receive and celebrate his purpose for us - ie. celebration and communion with his unconditional love for us amidst his divine order which is perfect freedom!!
