War hungry, ex-academic, neocon civilians are to be watched carefully.

Watched, of course, by who? Pacifist academics who believe the UN is the answer to everything? Answer me this. Are you willing to wait until Saddam announces he has Atomic bombs and will use them if attacked? What would you have us do then? Wait some more, until we are pulling radioactive remains out of Tel Aviv?

Our ancestors had this argument in the '30s about Hitler, and we waited. Do you want to do it again?

There is a kind of unseemliness in these war cries from Wolfowitz and Perle, who will neither fight in them or command them. There is no question we live in a society in which civilian leadership does and should control the military. But there are civilians and then there are civilians. War hungry, ex-academic, neocon civilians are to be watched carefully.

As opposed to those of us citizens sitting in front of our keyboards posting anonymously on an Internet bulletin board?

Ha! The irony.
