The hawks have not presented any convincing evidence to support their contention of imminent threat.

I think the best case, with the best credentials, has been made by Ken Pollack in his FA piece. He's not a hawk, knows a lot about Iraq and the sanctions regime, and he says that sanctions are not working and that Saddam's history is so aggressive that he is an imminent threat. I just heard him give an interview on TV where he repeated these views.
