I can't get to exercised over the trans fat thing. Trans fat is easy enough to spot. You can tell by looking at it in some cases. For food products with labels, all you have to do is look for "hydrogenated" to know that there's trans fat in the product. Sure, you don't know how much, but if the only safe level is zero, then it doesn't matter how much. The only benefit from such a campaign, IMO, is to raise awareness in restaurants and food producers so they might switch to something else.

The irony is that we wouldn't have a trans fat problem if folks like CSPI hadn't been so effective in warning us off sat fats. I'll take sat fats over trans fats any day.
