In southern African, one rarely saw males carrying things on their heads.

I was surprised to see a man doing it, as well. Almost always it's women, as you say. They have this swaying sort of walk that goes with it. That walk would look funny on a man. I tried to look at how this man was walking but I couldn't do that very well while I was driving. I probably would have driven around the block to check him out again had there been blocks on that particular stretch of road.
