Nothing is written in stone, but I like the deflation thesis. Yes, I think gold would get hammered under deflation. In fact, I think gold is about to tell us if deflation is upon us. It is at a huge inflection point: if it goes down from here, I will be betting on deflation.

I think the Fed really thought that the worst thing that would happen from all of their printing was inflation, and that they are prepared to deal with. They are scared shitless of deflation.
