yes i did see it. hard to deny that TA is ineffective when you see things like that. as far as the tails go, i agree. and i am one who would take it one step further to include entire bars that are basically traps. if you go back to that 60min chart, i've pretty much dismissed all the activity there on 7-17 to keep my original may downtrend line in tact. eventually i'll add dashed lines to include that, but as you say it seems all of that is an anomaly to the real trendline. thus i keep what i feel to me is the real trendline and then i include a dashed one as the "adjusted trendline".

1288-90 is the value tomorrow of the first line, 90 at the open, 88 at the close. the line above that is my unadjusted may downtrendline, 1325 open, 1318 by close. and the adjusted line is in the mid to upper 1350s for tomorrow. quite a difference already.
