Considering that CSCO has had some substantial layoffs and any unvested options or options that were underwater now disappear, how do you offset the expensing of those options that were accounted for earlier?

For forfeitures (of non-vested options), previously expensed FAS 123 costs are recovered. For cancellations (of vested options), option costs are unchanged. There may be special considerations for layoffs and employment contracts.

Above AFAIK, as I'm still learning this stuff too.
