Nope, I'm not arguing the honesty and integrity bit; I'm arguing the good and bad journalism bit. The best way to do the former--good journalism--is to try to do it. Politics comes with the store. As for simply saying everything should be only political, you then get a fragmented public, more than at present. The righties read their stuff, the centrists their stuff, and the lefties theirs. Public discourse, the discourse that attempts to discuss issues as issues, disappears. That's what I sometimes think the right wants in this country. It is, however, a formula for social disintegration.
