Whadda ya mean?<g> The negative news had no impact before in the bull market. Anyway this morning huge gains in premarket in spy, dia, and qqq. Will be interesting to see if se stay green all day or not.

This post really nailed it. How we close today in light of this report will either confirm this bull trend or tend to negate it. My short term guess is the new bull ignores it and shows this ct rally has more legs.

ajtj99 - Will there be a follow-up government report with government statistical revisions to include corporate restatements announced subsequent to July 31st? If so, when will that be published?

At this point, it's hard to know how many more and the magnitude of blow-ups in previously reported results coming in the next few months, especially leading up to CEO sign-off day.

Then there's surprise write-downs of investments resulting from stock market declines to date like the huge Dynegy investment write-down announced yesterday by ChevronTexaco.
