Its okay to pay them that much but paying the former Sec of the Treasury who helped lead the longest peacetime econ. expansion in US history $40 million is over the top?

Everyone knows what Rubin is being paid for -- he was being paid to make phone calls to the White House to try and prevent lowering of Enron's credit rating. Unfortunately, for him, the current administration wouldn't play.

And what was Cheney hired for? There was the real CEO and then the play one who made phone calls. Guess who was the play one? At least, Rubin had been in private industry before his gov't stint while Cheney has been a gov't good ole boy from the get go. I bet he was real good at corporate board meetings.

A person would have to be blind or stupid not to see what Rubin is collecting this massive sum for.

And what do you call a person who can't see why HAL hired Cheney?

And where is Cheney? How come we never see the VP anymore? Do you think he is still alive? Oh, wait, we never know when the terrorists will attack so we have to keep Cheney hidden........he's our secret weapon. This administration is so stealth you can hardly see the White House anymore.
