Why am I not surprised? The movie industry loves to manipulate our thinking. Another case in point: Yesterday I watched the movie "Platoon" on tape for the first time since I saw it in a theatre. I distinctly remember the first time I came away in awe of how utterly horrible war is. Yesterday, with the benefit of time and contemplation behind me, I saw dozens of little thought manipulations scattered all through it. I'm not a veteran, but I wonder how those of you who experienced Nam view this movie now.

There has to be some truth to the fragging aspect of it. A relative spent his entire Marine Corps career prosecuting fragging cases.

Dave,
re >Erin Brokovich<
Though the company she went after settled, subsequent research proved that they (and the claimed chemical discharge) had nothing to do with the alleged cancer cluster. I.e., the company was innocent and Erin et al., though they won (extorted) a settlement, were wrong.
