Yes, I agree. 10am tomorrow will tell me a lot. If we don't rally a fair amount or rise steadily from there, or at least by day's end, it's probably through for now. Shorting could come back quickly.

I haven't seen such a non-volatile day like this in ages. Could we possibly get 2 in a row? Doubt it.

"I have a number of pieces of data that suggest this is nothing more than a correction.." Agree. Most daily and weekly charts are moving up into a weak wave 4 which will reverse into to a stronger wave 5 down. Just as one would seasonally expect.
