My wife has a large chunk of her 401k in the vanguard s & P 500 fund.....about a year ago, I wanted to yank 80% out og that fund and spread it around....she said no.....leave it alone, but we will quit putting $'s into it and start putting $'s into the other funds......needless to say, it would have been wise to have taken 80% out last year....but now that the s and p is so banged up, we may start putting 10% or so each month back into that fund.....the rest is small cap, mid cap, foreign and fixed income crap....
