now that you mention it fred I probably have only been trading about 30 stocks. about 10 of them over and over and over. Does that make me like a market maker?

Absolutely Fred. It's a major commitment of time and energy, but after you watch a particular stock trade day in and day out you begin to see patterns - tradable patterns - times of day - volume impact - reactions to news - relations to peers, sector and indices, etc. It gets to the point where ya almost know what's gonna happen next. It's certainly not foolproof, but I believe one can increase their odds over the house.
