High fifties to low thirties in four sessions? Seems more manic than calm. The emotions from talking heads (hell, even my dentist) are showing the same kinds of swings...deep despair to euphoric elation. Never traded through a bear before though, so WTHDIK.

It's not necessarily the drop in the VIX itself, but mostly the structure of the move the VIX made in getting from the low to the high. It's very constructive with lots of base building. The quick drop down in this case may only serve to
make room for another drop.

Try another scenario.
They are killing option premiums on both puts and calls and here we are right at max pain.
Watch the moves from here for another week or so to be small.
Current month put holders that did not take profits as well as late call buyers are both probably gonna lose their ass.

This is neither bullish nor bearish merely crooked IMO.
