Facts in Five sounds like a fun game as it seems to involve a mix of wit and knowledge. I'm not so good at games like that which require a quick recall (at 59-1/2, it's not so instant anymore), but I usually do well at the Password-like games involving word clues. And Scrabble will always be my favorite word game, although it's a little stodgy for social situations.

Have you ever pitched a story to the Sunday Chronicle's guest column "Among Friends"? It has a human interest theme, and any of your stories would be a standout there. I doubt that it pays much, if anything, but it would be more good exposure for your writing. I've always wondered if you have a feel for how many columns you could produce every week if you did it week after week forever as the old pros do.

For anyone who didn't catch your column ....

Returning to gloat just a little bit...

I made the FINAL TUITION payment today! In just four short weeks, my little girl will matriculate with full parental honors, having survived and succeeded in accomplishing the seemingly impossible. All in the 5.25 year plan. A BS in Business.

So what doors will this open for her, you might ask, polite person that you are? (this is the really gloaty part) She landed her first post-baccalaureate professional position today! She starts part time next weekend then in Sept launches into fulltime working for Squaw Valley Ski Corporation's Marketing Department. I am so proud! She's going to get paid for shredding the moguls at Squaw! It brings tears to my eyes.

All those years of parenting are finally going to pay off!
