Carl, this is just silly. All these silly little word games about "capture" vs "conquer". If Israel had wished to get more land by conquest, it wouldn't have to control foreign civilians. It could just have removed them.

If the neighbors' intention were self-defense, as Israel's is, it would not matter so much that they had nuclear weapons. It is just that they periodically say things like "it is our intention to wipe Israel off the map". That is why Israel now has a second-strike force. Intentions matter, even in international relations, even if you wish to ignore them.
