Tom,

There are times when I feel like giving up on religion myself, but I can't bring myself to give up on God.

There is no doubt that some of the greatest evils are done by those who use the name of God as a cloak for their sins.

How you react when people of faith let you down and/or put you down reveals more about yourself than it does about them.

I find it difficult to perceive such evil and ignore it. Someone has to stand up and face it.

Otherwise, you leave the entire field to those who abuse people and lend credence to the impression that God blesses whatever they do.

I have an entire website devoted to facing the evil that Southern Baptists are doing in God's name. mainstreambaptists.org

Each denomination and each faith will have to put its own house in order.
