CB, it's far too soon to claim victory for freedom and free markets. On the contrary, the continuing inroads and imposts by governments make for a more and more 'command' type community where 'everything is forbidden unless expressly permitted'.

The share of government spending in the USA, NZ and other 'free' places has increased since the 1950s. Worse, there have been continuing restrictions on freedom, 'for our own good' of course and 'for safety reasons - you can't be too careful you know'.

People are smothering.

Also, electorates around the world continue to vote themselves rich at other people's expense. Bribing voters individually is illegal, but they are certainly bribed by group - 'vote for us and we'll give you a bunch of money from those rich people and from sales taxes and fuel taxes and stuff'.
