Mine costs depend where you are as to costs. Most require a small mill and tailings pond. This varies. I have been told that permitting a small mill may take as little as 50 to 100 K in Ontario. The mill would cost about 150K or thereabouts. But dealing with a float con would take about 150K depending on how you do it and the jurisdiction on nitrates if they can be used. Mining an open cut requires hoe, drill, loader, or cherry picker or slusher/ramp. You could spend a few 100K or less there. Underground,(figure in brackets are thou's) you need variously prospector's shaft(100), hoist/headframe/bin/feeder, (50) bucket, (5) air-compressor,(15) air fans,(10) generator,(15) couple of stoper drills,(8) jacklegs drills,(5) steel,(2) tram,(5) mining cars,(12) piping,(20) sump pump,(10) level pumps,(15) timber,(20) rail,(20) tools,(15) rockbolts,(5) and surface shop.(20) Bits, dynamite, etc will cost money.(10) [368 total]) 300 to 500K for a small setup for sure. A million or more would be required to mine 25 tons a day with a half dozen miners. Better take 500K for expenses. You need 7 times that in ore. That is 42,000 tons of 0.50 ounces. Thoughput will cost you 3.5 million over 4.5 years to mine out. A vein 300 feet long 4 feet wide, would have to be 420 feet deep to fill the bill. Profits would be 5 million. I know a couple of veins that would fill the bill and are even of higher grade. I can get mills too, and I think they could be permitted. One ounce, two ounce, even six ounce grades. Proven. But you just try getting the money. Sure boy. No problemo. How ultra cheap could you do it? I have often dreamed that you could one man mine for less than 200K. Maybe even 50K. Used to stolen equipment, diesel arrastra, 5 tons a day. Still need compressor, hoists, generator, pump, venilation. Might work better in an adit, self draining, no shaft. EC<:-}
