Win, I think you, John, et al, tend to see the media today divided into two parts.

1) Moderates

2) Right wing nuts


Aside from the fact that post was from Scott, not Win, you do have to admit there aren't any left wing nuts on the media. ;-)

Yeah, well, since you dropped my name into this, I will state my standard definition, "objective" = people you agree with, "biased" = people you disagree with.

I do find it odd, though, that the most popular instances of egregiously biased media ( Rush, Drudge, the WSJ editorial page, Fox News ) are on the right, and most of the whining about "biased" media is from the right too. I know, I know, it's all ok if you wear your bias on your sleeve, it's those shifty "liberals" at the NYT who are a real danger, because they're so subtle. Nobody would every accuse Andrew Sullivan in his warblogger reincarnation of being subtle, that's for sure.

Then there's the issue that what counts as "moderate" in the US would be "right" anywhere else in the democratic world, leaving the official US "right" way out there, but let's not get into that.
