The letter is what it is. To me, it sounds like the product of somebody conscientiously dealing with a situation in which an _alternative_ would have been to dodge the draft.

I'm waiting to hear a similarly conscientious explanation for the facts alleged against Bush here in the past few hours (if they prove to be true) -- something more substantive than "mistakes were made."
