The minute this incarnation of the Republican party gains the franchise on defining left-right in American politics we are all in deep doodoo

Let me see if I have this straight. Would this line up with your description of the American political spectrum?

Left (Progressive) 5% The Nation
Center (Moderate) 40% NY Times and CNN
Right 40% Fox, Washington Times
Far Right 15% Rush

Wouldn't it make sense to define "center" as being nearer the median of the electorate? Why are you indignant that "this incarnation" of the Republican party should claim the right to define the left-right divide when they have at least a plurality, if not a majority of the voters? Who should get to say, 5% or 50%?
