Buffett typically invests in company thru convertible preferred, if he doesn't buy the company outright. There are incredible bargains in the clec and wounded telecom sector, can buy assets for literally pennies on the dollar. apparently, this is what they are going to try and do. don't bet against Buffett. larry

Do you have a clue of what you speak?

Did WEB et al invest $500 million? Yes. Subordinate debt to be converted to preferred shares when possible.

BTW: short intest increased through July 15 after WEB investment. Over 50 million. HUGE position. Will the shorts be crushed??
